Jessica Vyas
Jessica’s contemplative journey began as a child observing and mimicking her great-grandmother perform daily morning puja(prayer). This repeated experience embedded in her a stillness she longed for years after her great-grandmother left.
As a teenager, she found that same solace in Hatha yoga classes at her local Hindu temple, the Hindu Society of North Carolina. Through college and graduate school, she delved deeper into yoga asana practice and in 2014, she was drawn to learn Ashtanga Yoga in Rishikesh, India where she lived for six months. Upon returning, Jessica continued mostly as a home practitioner, seeking guidance from her mentors Subhash Mittal of Integral Yoga Studio in Morrisville, NC, and Priya Jhawar, director of Ashtanga Yoga Austin.
Jessica is a 500HR vinyasa teacher and L1 authorized from Shri R. Sharath Jois in Mysore, India where she continues to study. She is forever grateful to those who instilled in her the jñāna (right knowledge) and bhakti (devotion) on this spiritual journey.
